Current and Past Research

My work focuses on characters of the Other and their representations on the Spanish-language stage. I am interested in how early modern theatre is performed for contemporary audiences, particularly in the North American / Latinx context.

Currently I am collaborating with Dr. Glenda Y. Nieto-Cuebas on Siglo Latinx. This project focuses on Latinx theatre artists and their work to adapt early modern Spanish plays to their contemporary circumstances. The manuscript is under preparation and has an advance contract with University of Toronto Press. Expected publication in late 2024. This project has been funded by the SSHRC Insight Grant (Oct 2022 competition).
